Bolstering Your Training

Today we’re celebrating the success of Linda Williams, who just earned her Author Accelerator Book Coach Certification!

How did you come to book coaching?

I have been a book coach for six years and helped 5 clients to publish their books. I wanted to take a certification course to gain more formal training and validate my expertise. When I saw the Author Accelerator program online I liked the topics and the coaching method.

What was your experience in the Book Coach Certification program? What did you find most satisfying? What did you find most challenging?

The training program has been invaluable. The most satisfying part of the training was learning the Blueprint for a Book method. It was a simple but effective way to help clients create the framework for their book.

The most challenging part was keeping practicum clients on track to meet my timeline to submit information for certification.

What is the most valuable piece of advice you’re taking away from the training?

I needed more training in the proposal process and research for literary agents for traditional publishing. The training and practicum in this area provided the in-depth information I needed to better help my future clients.

What did you do to celebrate this achievement?

I purchased a MacBook laptop, which I have wanted for awhile as my old computer was on its way out. I also celebrated with my husband and children.

Tell us more about your coaching plans!

Now that I have received my certification I am working on a marketing strategy to grow my business. I also wanted to facilitate workshops and do speaking engagements to encourage people to write their story. I believe everyone has a story to share with the world. They only need someone who cares enough to offer the training, encouragement and support to help them achieve their goal.

What are the next steps in your career?

I want to continue to take courses as well as attend workshops and conferences to gain more expertise as a book coach.
