Earning Certification

Congratulations to one of our newest certified book coaches, Liisa Kovala!

How did you come to book coaching?

In May 2022, I made the decision to retire early from my twenty-five-year long teaching career and six weeks later I was retired. Somehow, I stumbled upon a webinar session with Jennie Nash and learned about Author Accelerator. I had no idea book coaching was a thing!

What was your experience in the Book Coach Certification program?

The Book Coach Certification program was rigorous and rewarding. I loved the philosophy behind working with clients and found fresh insight into how to approach novel writing. I only wish I'd known about the Blueprint and Inside Outline when I was writing my first few books.

What is the most valuable piece of advice you’re taking away from the training?

The most valuable advice about book coaching was to enter it with enthusiasm, empathy, an open heart, and a listening ear. These ideas align with my personality and make book coaching an ideal career for me.

What did you do to celebrate earning your book coach certification?

I celebrated by sharing the news with my friends and family.

What are the next steps in your career? Tell us more about your coaching plans.

I'm learning more about marketing myself and am joining an online session about creating a course and another on building a business. I have clients enrolled in a group coaching session starting in October. There's so much to learn, and I'm ready for it.

I plan to work with women writers who are starting on their book writing journey or are somewhere in the process. I'm primarily interested in literary, historical, women's fiction, and memoir.

You can find me at all the places on my Linktree.
